❔ Why bathroom sink dripping water?

If you have a faucet with two handles, one for hot water and the other for cold, then you have a cartridge-style faucet. The cartridge is a valve on each handle that controls the flow of the water into the faucet spout. If your faucet is dripping water, this is a sign of damage to the cartridge.

Insulate. Another option to control water drips is insulation on the ventilation pipe. If it's uninsulated, wrap it in insulation to control the temperature more effectively and prevent condensation.

❔ Why is there water dripping from bathroom fan?

The problem might be the condensation in the cold duct. In most of the dripping water from the bathroom fan cases, this is the main culprit that you have to consider first. You may notice water dripping during or shortly after taking a shower. There is a good chance that there is condensation inside the duct.

7 Reasons Why Water Drips from Bathroom Fan 1. The damper is not closing properly. One of the most common reasons why the bathroom exhaust fan is leaking water is a damper stuck open. Bathroom fans have two dampers, one at the housing and one on the roof, where the duct exits the house. Interior dampers rarely get stuck, and when they do, they prevent the fan from expelling hot air and moisture. However, the exterior damper is more likely to get stuck. If this happens with the damper in the ...

Many people notice the issue when the bathroom exhaust fan starts dripping on their head as they step out after a shower. The usual cause is condensation inside the duct. In winter, when the warm moist air from the bathroom hits cool air in the attic or outdoors, it condenses, sending drips back down the ductwork.

The fan’s damper can also get stuck in the open position, allowing hot air into the cool duct and creating condensation. Check the small damper at the fan. It should open when the fan is on and close when the fan turns off. This damper responds to fan pressure and gravity.

There are several things that could be causing the water to drip from the fan, but the root of the problem is condensation. If the flex duct isn’t insulated and is routed through a cold space, the warm, damp air venting out can condense on the inner walls of the duct and drain back through the vent.

The fan pulls warm moist air from the bathroom, and distributes the air to the attic. On a cold day, the moisture in the air will condense on anything below the dew point. This can be the nails, the sheathing, the rafters and more. Obviously, condensation dripping from the nails and sheathing is not a good thing.

But as isherwood suggests, if it isn't the vent, inspect where the water is coming from when it happens. You will need to remove the cover, and maybe drop the fan, to see the inside of the housing. See if the water is coming from the duct and not some other leak dripping into or around the housing. – fixer1234 Jun 15 '17 at 21:46

It's caused by the steam condensating on the cold ducting in the loft. There are condensate catchers you can fit in line which then connect to over flow pipe. Flexi pipe will collect the water, which will then form mould and then start to smell. Flexi pipe is not the best, I don't know why they sell it un insulated and in such great lengths.
