Your cat meows before going to the bathroom because she feel vulnerable using the litter box, because she is old and confused or if she is dealing with health issues. Like most puzzling cat behaviors, deciphering the meaning behind your cat’s vocalizations before using the litter box can be quite tricky because it can mean any of a few things.

The other possibility involves anxiousness related to the identification. Similar to the instinctive behavior of meowing to let you know to be on the lookout, some cats meow before using the restroom because faeces can give away their location. Your cat could be attempting to send you a message as if to say hey.

There are quite a few reasons cats act in such a way before starting their bathroom break. Felines are often put into words by meowing to announce their bowel movements. It is either because they are uncomfortable defecating or simply want to get noticed, so you go to the bathroom with them.

That's exactly what your feline meows at because cats are way to scared of water and when they see you doing something dangerous, they meow. Click to see full answer. Also asked, why does my cat meow while going to the bathroom? If your cat meows loudly when defecating, it's highly likely to be because the experience is uncomfortable.

Why does my cat meow before going to the bathroom? A housetrained cat will meow to alert its owner that it needs to use the litter box. If your cat meows while pooping, it could be out of habit or that the cat is sick. Any signs of struggle or pain while defecating should be addressed by a vet.

Cats meow for many reasons, from the serious to the attention-seeking. Numerous diseases can cause a cat to feel hunger, thirst, or pain, all of which can lead to excessive meowing. Cats of all ages also can develop an overactive thyroid or kidney disease, both of which can result in excessive vocalizations.

So, why do cats meow before they poop? Cats meow before they poop to signify they are going to the bathroom. Instinctively, they also meow to scare away predators while in this stationary position. Meowing before pooping is also related to cats who are experiencing urinary tract infections, or painful bowel movements.

This may be the reason or one of the reasons why your cat follows you into the bathroom. It’s the combination of fresh water flushing into the pan; the sound, the scent, and the allure of having a taste. The best thing you can do is keep putting that lid down after you’ve finished. It’s not the most desirable of habits, is it.
