By far the easiest method is with the use of a scale. For example, when you stand on a bathroom scale, it displays the magnitude of both forces of gravity between you and the Earth.

When you stand on a scale, the scale’s reading is a measure of your weight. It is actually recording the Normal force the scale has to exert to support your weight. When you and the scale are stationary with respect to each other, these forces balance out and your weight is equal to the Normal force.

The only thing that will help you to explain is why the scale is not going anywhere! BUT...a scale is not designed to show you the net force acting on it. If it were, it would always read zero (unless your bathroom is in the habit of accelerating up and down ) What does the reading on the scale show you? It shows you the force pushing down on that spring mounted platform or whatever the heck it is on the scale's surface that is designed to be depressed when somebody stands on it.

On the other hand, your home bathroom scale would show you weighing about 9 kg, which is clearly incorrect; this comes about because the scale is measuring force (which on Earth is about 540 N and on the Moon is about 90 N) and the reading in kilograms is based on calibration for Earth, which is inappropriate for use on the Moon until a recalibration is is done for the Moon resulting in a factor 6 correction relative to Earth usage.
