I agree with you that the ogee would be a little to fussy. I would look more at the straighter eased edge than the pencil edge. It looks a little more like a furniture top than the pencil edge.

Bullnose Edge. The bullnose edge style is a unique look that features a fully rounded edge around the countertop border. Those that prefer a thicker-looking slab in the kitchen should save the bullnose edge for a bathroom countertop, as the semi-circle shape makes the edge appear thinner.

You can choose between an eased edge with a square flat face and somewhat rounded top edge. Or you can opt for a square edge with waterfall, which has a squared edge that has a small dip before falling over the edge. Beveled Edge Bathroom Countertops

Aside from its attractive contemporary look, a bullnose edge is a wise choice in a bathroom used by young children, since the countertop edges will not have any sharp edges. Variations Demi-bullnose : This combines the curve of the bullnose with some angling along the bottom corner of the edge.

traditional kitchens, an Ogee Edge refers to a style of countertop that feature a concave arch flowing into a convex arch. The ogee edge is relatively expensive compared to other edge styles, especially when cut into granite, marble or concrete. Ogee edges can also be incorporated into the woodwork or molding itself.

Quarter Round Edge The slight curve of the Quarter Round edge will make your countertop appear slightly thicker. This edge is a great fit for either traditional or modern kitchen designs. In addition to your kitchen countertop, this edge looks great on bathroom

Featured: Madreperola Quartzite With its elongated edge, the classic ogee profile is also fantastic for drawing attention to countertops with a rounded or organic shape, such as the Madreperola Quartzite slab shown here. The ogee edge also adds a bit of flair to a slab without a lot of color variance by giving it depth and visual interest.

The most basic countertop edge is the straight edge. It is a squared edge, with only a very slight bevel, called a chamfer, to take the sharpness from the edges. A popular modification to this is the quarter round, where the top edge is rounded off, or the double quarter round, where both the top and bottom edges are rounded.

The most basic rounded edge is known as the bullnose, featuring little design beyond a curved edge, making it a timeless choice in most of all kinds of kitchens.

One of the classiest best countertop edge designs, a beveled edge can look like it’s modern or classic depending on the style of kictchen and stone (natural, artificial, etc). With a modern twist on the straight edge, beveled edges are a great all-rounder style of countertop edge.
